• Riddle Poems: And All the Rest

    31.

    Armored warriors weaving.

    An orb for receiving.

A nation screams while China dreams on

    Holy days of heaving.

    ~

    32.

    An a-tropic topic.

    So anti-anthropic.

    Mammoth blight of unwavering white.

    Most life, microscopic.

    ~

    33.

    Odds crammed into a box

    That the poor shooter hocks.

    Twenty-one dark dimples (not pimples),

    Destiny each one mocks.

    ~

    34.

    Mimics your ev’ry act.

    Sunlight makes it protract.

A vigilant end but a dull friend

    With which to interact.

    ~

    35.

    Perilous to handle.

    Brother to the bramble.

Reservoir of green, a bird’s canteen.

    Spears the desert sandal.

    ~

    36.

    Atoms consist of men.

    Easy to get lost in.

They’re harder to stray than to sway.

    Bear wisdom, now and then.

    ~

    37.

    Open sesame stripe

    And an edge-beveled swipe.

Hauls sixteen men on a thin man’s chest.

    But don’t believe the hype.

    ~

    38.

    Result: Does not compute.

    Negative one’s square root.

This statement, too, is truly untrue.

    Almost makes logic moot.

    ~

    39.

    Tales of well-known nonesuch –

    How, chiefly, they’ve done much.

From cradle to grave, governs the rave

Of life and times they touch.

    ~

    40.

    Some coddled, mumbled plash.

    Murmur, squab for the gnash.

Easy heard in deathened din, plop of pin.

One shush, with ne’er a smash.

    ~

    41.

    Enchanted dream fodder

    Scribed by primal plotter.

Yarns of yore, winning the snore of

    Every son and daughter.

    ~

    42.

    Our endowed eyes doth probe

    Some yonder halo’s strobe:

    Senior suns slowly swarming, forming

    A coalescent globe.
