The path continues to curve as you walk farther down until it takes a 90 degree turn right and then starts curving left again until it takes another sharp turn inward. Your walk follows this pattern for a while until you stop to think.
“Why would they walk into a corn maze?”
You kneel down to take a closer look at where the stalks were cut and you can verify that there’s a shimmering reaction with the moonlight – the smell isn’t too “corny” either, more like a diluted kerosene-ammonia mixture.
And then, just as you hear some of those otherworldly radio signals, you realize you’ve been navigating your way through a genuine crop circle!
